BRABUS 700 Biturbo Based On Mercedes SLS AMG

There are conversions and there are conversions done by BRABUS, who specialized in pushing the performance envelope on Mercedes and its related cousins. At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, currently on going in Switzerland, the tuning specialist took out its BRABUS 700 Biturbo for a spin. While the BRABUS 700 Biturbo is really a Mercedes AMG SLS, the gull-wing V8 supercar made by the Tri-Star company. Its really a new car underneath. On the performance front, BRABUS added 2 turbochargers to the already powerful 6.2-liter V8 engine. For optimal efficiency, BRABUS designed a left turning turbo for the left side of the massive V8 instead of the usual right-turning version, thus increase the air flow to both turbos. The original output of 563 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque is now at 700 horsepower and 626 pound-feet of torque. Customized interior, trunk, and titanium exhausts all equate to further weight reduction. Now the car clocks 0-62 mph at only 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 213 mph. The fast just got faster. via: Autoblog

Interview Magazine: Yohji Yamamoto Interview

One of my favorite designers who I've mentioned in my verses...

"I show you how I might roll, Yohji Ymamoto, red leather high tops stuntin' in the Go Go"

...is interviewed by none other than Interview Magazine.

Established in 2003, many have been left perplexed this week as to why Y-3, a collaborative brand created by Yohji Yamamoto and adidas, are celebrating their 10th anniversary during men’s fashion week. The answer is the that the two contributing partners actually first combined in 2001, creating a limited run of footwear that has now been established as the most desirable pieces for any self-respecting Y-3 collector. In celebration of the decade-spanning partnership, Y-3 will host a party at Maison des Metallos in Paris on January 23. In advance of the event, Interview Magazine briefly caught up with Yamamoto to discuss Y-3’s foundations and sportswear design. Key extracts of the interview have been included below.

Why were you initially interested by sportswear collaboration?

Ten years ago, together with Adidas, we created something that did not exist before and completely projected into the future. Y-3 opened a new segment, a niche in the fashion and sportswear market.

And is it still relevant today?

Today, tomorrow… I feel this is still relevant, and Y-3 is always continuing to evolve, like a child that is still growing. It is demanding, but it also is fun.

How has your sportswear designs evolved in the past decade?

My desire was and is to make sportswear elegant and chic. Adidas is a very personal inspiration to me—it enriches my creative life. I like the three stripes—the good old familiar.

Forbes Magazine Breaks Down Jay-Z’s Money Talk In “H*A*M” Verse

You know you're major when Forbes breaks down your lyrics!!! Now that's H*A*M!!!

“Really, you got baby money.”

Forbes: The line is a double entendre meant both as a general reference to the small amount of money that other rappers have in comparison to Jay-Z, and as a specific a reference to the wealth of rapper Dwayne “Lil Wayne” Carter, also known as “Weezy Baby,” and fellow New Orleans rapper and record executive Brian “Birdman” Williams, also known as “Baby.”

The latter recently claimed the former had more money than Jay-Z, which is, well, simply not true. Jay-Z earned $63 million dollars last year, tops on our list of hip-hop’s top earners, while Lil Wayne banked $20 million. Birdman did not make the list.

Perhaps the best line on Jay-Z’s new track is a verifiable and, one might say progressive, boast:

“(You) ain’t got my lady’s money!”

Indeed, BeyoncĂ© took in a whopping $87 million by our last annual count, more than any rapper — and more than Jay-Z and Lil Wayne combined.
